Sterling Comes Off The Boil

The Pound has slipped against most major currencies in the last 24 hours.

Poor overnight data hasn't helped.

The consumer confidence number was slightly off. However the retail sales report made for very poor reading.

Both the month on month and annual numbers showed contraction which is a bit gloomy.

Looking ahead it's a bit of a quiet one for scheduled news, so there's little to buck the trend going into the weekend.

Business news is equally boring! Besides news around mobile phone pricing (yes, it's one of those days), not much to report.
